Lego Land

After a few occasions of wanting to go to Lego Land but never actually making it there, we finally took a visit during our last trip to San Diego over Christmas vacation.

We erroneously thought that at only 3 years old (or two days under 3, to be exact) that Gabby would be into it for three, MAYBE four hours, but not for a full day. So we planned to go in the afternoon after naptime. We are totally staying longer next time...we were there for four and a half hours, and only left because it was super dark and starting to get cold...but Gabby would have been game for AT LEAST another 2 hours of park time.

Lego Land is perfect for a younger child. Gabby was too small to ride on some of the "bigger" rides, but there were plenty of available options to the 36" and under crowd. We went on a chilly and dreary day, but the park itself is really adorable, and is kept up nicely. Here we are at with a little lego guy near the entrance of the park:

Rather than making your kid wait in long lines, each ride has a little contained area within the line where kids can play with legos while a parent waits in the line.

The highlight of Gabby's day...a bag of popcorn. Nothing makes an experience better than popcorn, according to Gabby.

She and David rode one of those swinging pirate ship type rides (which I avoid because they me want to vomit). It was a little on the dare-devilish side for her...I was a little apprehensive and wasn't sure if she would like it or freak out. She LOVED it. I could hear her laughing and screaming with joy during the entire ride. The second they exited the boat, she told David "I want to do it again!" She pretty much loved every ride she went on.

Horrible picture...just had to post it because it makes me laugh. Me looking at the wrong camera, my mom not ready, and Gabby with that RIDICULOUS smile.

This one is much better!

Playing "drive thru window" with my dad on one of the playgrounds:

If you ever find yourself in San Diego, definitely go to Lego Land! We will definitely be making a return trip next time we are out there, and next time we will plan to just power through with no nap and spend the whole day.
